From Deloitte to kearney

Good day,

I will be joining deloitte in a week as a BA.
I have two questions: What is the probability of me joining kearney from deloitte knowing that I will be referred by a manager there in a year?

2) How does deloitte distinguish from the other big4?

Thank you

Dear,

1) Getting a referral by a manager helps to secure an interview. During the interview, you can leverage your Deloitte experience and interview preparation during the Kearney's interview process. If you are willing to transfer already within 1 year, why not directly apply and start at Kearny?

2) Deloitte is known to have a broad industry focus, with specific interest in consulting and technology. They have a collaborative culture and encourage inclusive leadership.

Let me know if you need more info.

Hi there,

Congratulations on the Deloitte offer! In terms of your question:

Q: What is the probability of me joining kearney from deloitte knowing that I will be referred by a manager there in a year?

It depends on several factors, mainly:

  1. Your CV / experiences
  2. The demand of candidates for the office you apply
  3. How many other candidates are applying to that office
  4. Your performance in interviews

So it is impossible to comment properly without additional information.

2) How does deloitte distinguish from the other big4?

You mean in the perspective of an application to Kearny? If you manage to work on strategy projects, have a strong CV, leverage the manager referral and your target office is hiring, it should be possible to get an invitation at Kearny with it on your CV.

Good luck!

Hi there,

1) Can't really say without knowing anything else about your background (other work experience, universities, GPAs, leadership experience outside of work, etc)

2) They think they belong to MBB - there are many memes about it, MBBD :-) All jokes aside, I think it's one of the more well-respected B4. Don't ask ChatGPT though since it will provide you with a marketing answer based on what they write on their website about themselves (see other replies)

Cheers and all the best with your start,

Florian

Hey,

It's hard to calculate the probability without knowing more about your background and the geography you are applying to, but having a referral like this will probably give you a shot at an interview. Just make sure you apply after you've hit a 1-year of experience mark as anything less on your CV can raise questions.

Also, start preparing for your interviews several months in advance (CV / cases / fit / math etc.) and don't leave the preparation for the last minute!

Good luck next year,
Nick

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the offer from Deloitte!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:

  • First of all, no one can seriously answer the question of how likely it is that you will get an offer from Kearney, because it depends mainly on your performance in the interviews.
  • Moreover, I wonder why you are asking this question when it was you who successfully applied to Deloitte. What is the reason for that? But overall, at least based on recent financial performance, Deloitte seems to be the best performing Big Four company.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hey! Congrats on your new role at Deloitte!

  1. With a strong performance at Deloitte and a manager referral, your chances of moving to Kearney in a year are quite good—just focus on building solid consulting skills and a strong track record (depends on their performance system what is valued most)
  2. Deloitte stands out from other Big 4 firms with its strong strategy and operations practice, global presence, and diverse project opportunities, often blending strategy with digital and tech-driven solutions.

Wishing you all the best in your journey—feel free to reach out if you need any advice along the way! 🚀

Probability - it all depends on how well you do in the interview. So, if you have strong fundamentals, no need to worry. If you feel you are abit shaky or not as confident, then you should prepare in advance.

Hey there,

It's not possible to say what the probability of you joining Kearney from Deloitte will be without know details of the rest of your profile, CV, performance, background and experience.

That said, it definitely helps having a manager referral - so good job on having that!

All the best

Dear,

regarding How does Deloitte distinguish from the other big4?

1. Deloitte operates on a regional basis and that differentiates from the other big4 in terms of global assets, tools and knowledge.

2. Deloitte brings diverse expertise by integrating risk and assurance, consulting, tax and financial advisory.

3. Deloitte has both the breadth and depth in consulting in some of the industries and practice areas. Example I can give is that Deloitte has Center of Excellence in Automatic Warehouses, Smart Manufacturing. This is largely due to their strategic decision to maintain a robust consulting practice while other firms divested theirs in the past
