BCG round 1 interview in one go

Hello everyone!

I recently applied to BCG and completed my online assessment. After two weeks without any response, I decided to email them, mentioning that my McKinsey application has progressed to the final round (which is true and I'm not lying). I politely asked if they could provide an update on my BCG application so I could manage my expectations and time accordingly.

An hour later, they responded by scheduling my first-round interviews, both on the same day this week. I requested to reschedule one of the interviews, but they insisted on conducting both on the same day.

Could this be a positive sign?

I’d appreciate any insights or thoughts!

Thank you!

Neither positive or negative, it is just the process moving forward

MBB act quickly to capture talent when this is at risk of being captured by other firms.

More than one interview in a day is a challenge. Make sure you have good energy levels that day. Sleep well the night before and do any other thing that energizes you.

Hi there,

Congrats on the progress!

The scheduling in itself is not a positive or negative sign. They want to be efficient with the process.

Pre-COVID, some firms had round 1 + 2 + a test all at the same day in the office. I remember my McKinsey interviews vividly with a test in the morning, followed with 3 interviews, a lunch break and then another 2 interviews in the afternoon.

All the best with your prep!

Cheers,

Florian

Hey!

Difficult to say - but this is likely a positive sign! BCG’s quick response and willingness to schedule both interviews on the same day suggest they see your candidacy as strong and don’t want to lose momentum, especially given your progress with McKinsey. From my experience in interviewing, I noticed that firms sometimes accelerate interviews for competitive candidates, so they might be eager to keep you in their process. While interviewing twice in one day can be intense, it also allows you to make a continuous, strong impression. Best of luck with your interviews!

Best, Alessa

Hi there,

congratulations on the first round interview. It is not unusual to have all of the interviews belonging to the same round on the same day. That's how it has been at many firms in the past. So in your case it is likely a scheduling thing based on availability of your assigned interviewers.

There are no positive or negative signs when it comes to setting up the interviews. What matters will be your performance during the interviews of course.

Best of luck

Hi there,

Q: Could this be a positive sign?

It is not unusual to have both first-round interviews on the same day, so I would not read into this.

Good luck!

Francesco
