BCG Riyadh/Doha hiring?

Hi there- I am a KPMG management consultant in the UK with around 8 years of experience and also an MBA from Imperial College.

Been thinking about a potential move to the middle east but wanted some realistic advice on:

1. the current landscape of hiring in KSA and Qatar for BCG and if they are open to expat MCs from the UK at Consultant level

2. How is the interview process for the ME offices in comparison to the other offices? Do they still do the chatbot case then then two further case + fit rounds?

3. Will a referral from European BCG employee help or a local referral is better?

Thanks!

Hello!

1. BCG is actively recruiting for its Riyadh and Doha offices. Given your consulting background and MBA from Imperial, you have strong chances of securing a Consultant-level position.

2. The process includes a 30-minute online case experience assessment, followed by a first-round interview. If successful, the decision round consists of two additional interviews.

3. A local referral is advantageous, not only for strengthening your application but also for facilitating follow-ups with the local recruiting team.

Wishing you the best of luck! Feel free to reach out if you’d like more insights.

Is it true though that you need to have at least 2 years of experience in the field before entering BCG as a consultant?

For the Consultant position, you would need a MBA/PHD with prior work experience.

You can join as an Associate (or Junior Associate in some regions) without any work experience, and with some work experience and masters you could be considered for the Senior Associate position (but this depends both on the school and work experience, it's assessed on a case by case basis and criteria differs between BCG offices).

Hey there ?,

Sounds like you have a strong profile, and a move to the Middle East could definitely work—especially with your experience and MBA. Here’s a quick breakdown:

1️⃣ Hiring Landscape in KSA / Qatar (BCG)

Hiring in Riyadh is still active, though slightly slower than peak 2022/23 levels. Doha is smaller, more selective, and often staffed via Dubai or Riyadh. With your UK consulting + MBA background, you’d be competitive for Consultant-level roles as long as you can show solid strategy exposure.

2️⃣ Interview Process

Yes—BCG ME still uses the Chatbot / Casey test as the first screen, followed by two rounds of interviews (each with 1 case + fit). It's very aligned with other offices but ME cases may be more public sector-heavy or implementation-focused, so flexibility is key.

3️⃣ Referrals

Both help! A local referral is slightly stronger for visibility, but a European BCG referral still gets you into the system with weight. Ideally, use both if possible ?

Let me know if you want to prep for the region-specific angles or want support with referrals—I’m happy to help!

Best,
Alessa ?

Hi there,

1. Your profile works very well.

2. The process is the same (Online Case, 2 rounds of interviews, 2-3 interviews per round with case and fit each)

3. Local referrals would be better, but one referral is better than none. Maybe your European referrer can introduce you to a local referrer.

Cheers,
Florian
