BCG Post Final Round

Hi everyone,

Hoping to get some views on my current situation.

I recently had a final round with BCG a little over a week ago but still haven’t heard back yet. I sent HR a follow up yesterday asking whether there are any updates but didn’t receive a reply. It’s end of the working day now.

In my previous round, I had 3 interviews as they were undecided after the first 2 and had a 3rd one as a decider. It then took them 1 month to get back to me to let me know I’m in the final round.

Considering this, may I ask 1) is this current delay a good or bad thing? Or is it just the holiday period and people are away hence longer replies. 2) What should I do if I still haven’t heard back by this week? I have the contact for the HR’s junior recruiter, should I also reach out to the junior if I haven’t heard back by end of week?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi there,

I understand your anxiousness here but try to calm down! 1 week is not enough time to start to panic (or, frankly, to reach out to HR).

I would wait 2 more weeks before reaching out again. When you do, try to call, but if they don't answer, send another email.

Please do not reach out to the Junior recruiter…this makes it look like you're going around the other HR.

Fingers crossed for you!

Hi Ian, thank you for letting me know. Wish I had asked this before chasing HR, initially thought they get back within 2 days cause of what I read here and the timeline of people getting an answer was usually same day or next day. THANK YOU :)

This is a vacation period, so things usually take longer. In any case, taking a couple of weeks to get back to you is perfectly normal.

Hello,

I fully agree with Ian - there's no need to panic if you haven't heard, especially as it took them so long to get back to you about the final round already. Seems like they are having a busy recruiting season. I would wait a few more weeks and reach out to the recruiter again if you still haven't heard.

Hi there,

  1. Well, good is when they call you right away with an offer ;) But it doesn’t mean you won’t get one. Depending on the office and recruiting pipeline, they may need more time
  2. If they don’t reply to the email, I would wait a week and then call them

Best,

Francesco

If they will reject you - they will tell you

If they will select you - they will tell you

Bottomline is - they will tell you whatever happens. Please don't think that ghosting by HRs in consulting means rejection.

Hey there,

Not per se a bad thing. Given your experience after the last round, I would not worry yet and wait for their reply for another week, then reach out via phone to ask for a status update.

Fingers crossed!

Cheers,
Florian
