BCG Online Assessment Test - Italy

Dear All,

I trust you well. May I ask you some clarifications about the BCG online assessment for Italy?

I have made some research but I cannot clearly understand if in Italy the BCG Online Assessment currently in place is the Potential Test or if it has been replaced by the Chatbot Interview.

For what I have been told by the HR, in early January I will receive a link which will be available for five days and it will grant me the access to a test to assess my quantitative reasoning, based on a case study.

Do you have any suggestions about which kind of test I may be taking? Is it likely to be the Potential Test?

The position for which I am interviewing is Generalist Consultant, does the position have any influence on the type of Online Assessment?

I thank you for your support and I wish you a happy new year.

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the invitation by BCG!

This is indeed an interesting question which is probably relevant for quite a lot of users, so I am happy to provide my perspective on it:

  • Generally speaking, BCG uses the chatbot interview format which has replaced any type of purely quantitative/ reasoning test format. Still, given your description, it might very likely still be the “Potential Test” format since BCG Italy has used this format until recently.
  • I would highly advise you to call the recruiter and politely ask about the type of format. In the end, you solely want to properly prepare for the format thus they will be more than happy to provide enough information in order to make you a successful candidate.
  • From my perspective, unless you are applying for very specific data-/ digitization-related positions, the assessment formats will not change (though the composition might slightly change).

In case you want a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare your upcoming BCG interviews, please feel free to contact me directly.

I hope this helps,

Hagen

Hi there,

Your best bet is to clarify with HR - there is no harm in just asking them directly (to say you're looking to prepare for it).

Generally, BCG does the Chatbot. However, if they are saying “assess my quantitative reasoning” then it might be PST. If they are saying “based on a case study” then it is more likely chatbot.

I need the exact wording from their email to be sure AND you should just ask them directly regardless :)

Best of luck!

Until very recently BCG was still using the potential test in Italy, so my best guess is that is still the current situation.

Hello!

Congrats on the invite for the test, all starts there :)

In Italy, most likely you will get the Chatbot. However, this is a perfect question to clarify with HR, they are there to help!

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara
