BCG Offer Extended but My Resume Has Updated Since

Hi all,

I received an offer from BCG as an associate as I just graduated from college (undergrad) mid-2024. When I applied, I hadn’t started my internship at a boutique consulting firm so it wasn’t in my resume. However, during my interviews, I mentioned this internship to them and what I’ve learned.

Since the recruiting process took longer than expected, I accepted my conversion to full time in the boutique firm (but my contract allows me to resign anytime with 1 month notice). My question is, will BCG reprimand me for this (either rescind offer or make the onboarding process difficult)?

Hey there,

There's nothing to reprimand you for because you hadn't done anything wrong. When recruiting processes take long, interviewers (i.e. Companies and Firms etc.) know that content within your resume can change in the mean time.

Many times, you can have new items to add in your CV between the lag time in which you apply and have an interview or even start a job. This is normal.

You can feel free to get in touch with recruiting or HR if you want to share an updated resume, but this really shouldn't be a problem

Unless your BCG contract indicates that you cannot take positions equivalent to the one you had before joining - which seems unlikely - this would not be an issue for BCG.
