BCG Hiring Insights

A few questions about BCG and their hiring practices (for experienced hires).

  1. If a role is listed for multiple locations, does that mean that they will be giving offers to multiple candidates?
  2. How soon do they expect you to start after an offer? I assume it'll vary based on role/need, but minimum time from offer to start date would be helpful.

BCG | Project Leader and Experienced Interviewer | MBA at London Business School

Hi there,

I would also like to add that at BCG “experienced hire” means anything from someone having 2 years of experience (e.g., they could join as a Senior Associate if the office has this position), someone with an MBA, that would join as a Consultant and so on .. on the regular consulting track.

But it could also mean hiriking someone for a specialized role, such as for the expert track.

As a rule of thumb, for the generalist roles, I would expect them to be available across offices. For the latter, it could be they do need just one profile, but are location indiferent - as that person is anyways expected to travel quite a bit.

Hope this helps,

Ariadna

Hi there,

1) It depends. It can be like you described.

However, assuming you are talking about offices in the same country, once you start, you will travel 95% of the time anyway between the home office and client location. Taking that into account, it does not matter that much where you live. In that case, it could also be that the position is only available once across several offices.

2) Can be anywhere from one month after up to 1 year in certain cases. Depends on the country/office again.

Cheers,

Florian
