Bain Amsterdam screening test

Hi everyone,

I've been preparing for a Bain application and I've heard that Bain adapt the screening tests by office. I've been reading up on SOVA, but have seen reference to something called "TestGorilla" which is used at the Amsterdam office. Is that right?

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, and contrary to what other coaches have said, there does not seem to have been much change in the pre-interview assessments used by Bain offices.
  • Moreover, you seem to be correct in assuming that the Bain Amsterdam office uses the Testgorilla pre-interview assessment.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming Bain pre-interview assessment and/or interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Both tests are quite similar.

Ask your recruiting contact what to expect and how best to prepare.

Hi there,

The bad news: Over the last year different Bain offices have changed back and forth between both tests so it's not always 100% clear beforehand what you will get (to avoid extensive preparation).

The good news: Both the SOVA and the TestGorilla are very similar so there are ways to prepare. I have created a guide with more than 500 sample questions for it if you are interested.

All the best,

Florian

Hey there,

I have 2 reflections on this that may be useful:

  1. Clarify recruiting queries with recruiting team
  2. The SOVA assessment and TestGorilla seem not to be vastly different, so preparation shouldn't be affected greatly

But once clarified with recruiting, you can ensure your preparations are now more specifically aligned to the assessments that would be coming up!

All the best
