Bad behaviour from PWC - Strategy& recruiting staff

I applied for an entry role at Strategy&. I was invited to do the entrance test (math gmat style + mini case + essay) and I passed it successfully.

After a couple of weeks, I was invited for the first round of interviews with only 3 days of notice. Unfortunately, I couldn't go on that date, so I asked whether it was possible to reschedule the interviews. The HR partner who contacted me said that there wasn't any problem, and that she was going to call me again in a couple of weeks.

At this point, she disappeared. After almost 4 weeks from the call, I sent an email. I waited for 10 days for an answer. I tried to call her, but she wasn't replying.

I called the general office to understand what was going on and I explained my situation. After 30 minutes, the HR partner called me back, saying that they closed the recruiting process for that position, without saying anything. She added that if they re-open the recruiting for the same position, they may call me back for the interviews, without repeating the test.

As you may imagine, I am really angry and disappointed. Has anyone of you ever had such an experience? If they called me back for the interviews, what would you do?

Hi,

Unfortunately, this happens and you can not completely trust the HR CRM. Also, we don't know if they've hired anyone for this position or just closed it.

I think there is a good lesson learned for you as well. If you are really interested in a role - you should be the one to push the process. Thus don't hesitate to call / write an e-mail asap if there is a delay.

Best!
