Hi everyone!

Does anyone have any tips for interviews at Accenture? I have mine coming up for the Technology Strategy & Advisory practice.

Thanks

Very likely you will have 3-4 rounds:

  1. HR - typical behavioural questions to get to know you better
  2. Skills Interview- deep dive into your background, skills, experience, motivations etc. Done by a Senior Manager/Director/MD.
  3. Case- done by a Senior Manager/Director/MD. For TS&A , expect a case that will tease out technology architecture, large programme delivery type skills. They will give you a 1-3 page case to read, analyse and followed by series of specific questions. Prep time can be 15-30mins
  4. MD Executive fit- done by the hiring MD. Typical behavioral questions

Sometimes, they combine #3 and #4 into one session. So, best clarify with HR.

Accenture cases are NOT like MBB.

If you need any more support, feel free to write to me directly.

All the best.

Thank you for your response! What are those types of case studies called? Whereby you have been given 1-3 pages worth of information? And are there any materials to prepare for those types of cases? Thanks

Hi there,

The interview should follow the same structure as for Big4, but I would proactively reach out to the interviewer to ask, i.e., what is going to happen in each round? what sort of dimensions are they testing? will the cases be live with interviewers? do all the interviews have a personal experience part or do they rather focus on case?

Aside from this, I'd try to log in as many cases as possible and polish my personal fit answer. Best of luck!

Hello!

Congrats in the interview with Accenture!

Here I give you tips for interview prep in general, where you have 2 main workstreams ahead:

1. FIT INTERVIEW

The "Integrated FIT guide for MBB" has been recently published in PrepLounge´s shop (https://www.preplounge.com/en/shop/tests-2/integrated-fit-guide-for-mbb-34)

It provides an end-to-end preparation for all three MBB interviews, tackling each firms particularities and combining key concepts review and a hands-on methodology. Following the book, the candidate will prepare his/her stories by practicing with over 50 real questions and leveraging special frameworks and worksheets that guide step-by-step, developed by the author and her experience as a Master in Management professor and coach. Finally, as further guidance, the guide encompasses over 20 examples from real candidates.

You can see plenty of reviews from candidates who purchased it already.

Feel free to PM me for disccount codes for the Integrated FIT Guide, since we still have some left from the launch

2. BUSINESS CASE

1. Practice cases with partners asap, as many as you can do.Find experienced partners who can provide a good feedback

2. Practice your math skills, both in your cases and with ad hoc exercisess, such as:

1. Multiplying double digit numbers (you can find videos about this in Youtube, unfortunately we cannot post the link here but they are easy to find)

2. Leveraging math tools (Mimir math for iOS), Math tool on Viktor Cheng website to practice

Furthermore, you should practice as much as you can, and ensure that you cover:

1. Profitability cases- basic profitability framework.

2. Idea generation cases: for any specif issue

3. Growth cases: market penetration, new product launch, product mix change, etc.

4. Pricing cases

5. M&A cases

6. Valuation cases

7. Value chain cases

Given you are under this much time contraint, consider working with a coach to foster speed and ensure you have a tailored plan to be very targeted. PM me interested!

Hope it helps!

Clara

Hi there,

From my experience, process is largely in line with what Adi described - some regional nuances may apply though.

  • Case - i've seen that in 2 variants - either written format, as described here (more common) or just a verbal prompt. As long as your approach is robust, will not move the needle though. Also, have seen a few occasions where 2 case interviews were required.
  • Skills interview: interviewers might be more junior at times, not necessarily Senior Mgr upwards.

Suggest you check with HR about the details to confirm - no harm in asking.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Andi
