I completed the Bain SOVA test for the London office in late December and I haven't heard anything since. I know that the deadline for completing the assessment isn't until mid Feb, so would they be waiting until everyone has completed it before sending out any sort of rejection emails? Or do they cut people from online testing on an ongoing basis?
Bain response time from SOVA test

Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on the invitation from Bain!
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:
- Unfortunately, no one can seriously answer the question of when you will hear back from them until you do. However, if they gave you mid-February 2025 as the date, I would advise you to just believe them and not question it, as it does not change anything either way.
You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming Bain interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Hagen

Hi,
It's very much depending on the office. In general you can expect to hear back within a few weeks after completing the test. Some offices decides to couple back only after every candidate filled in the test.
If you've already completed the test and haven't heard back yet, it might still be within the normal timeframe. However, if you're concerned, it could be helpful to follow up with the recruitment team for an update.

Hi, it's not unusual to wait until the entire assessment period is over before any notifications are sent out; while sometimes candidates who score significantly below a threshold might be informed earlier, in most cases, especially with a deadline still ahead, Bain likely plans to review all submissions before reaching out, so I'd recommend waiting until the deadline passes before considering a follow-up. Best, Alessa

Would request you to follow-up with HR/recruiting - every 1/2 weeks.
However, note that you will get a response regardless of a pass or fail.
Additionally, would request you to check your spam/junk folder once as well.

Hi there,
It's likely that they wait for everyone to finish the test before moving on with interviews.
Fingers crossed!
Florian

Hey,
You can check if you've got a message from them in your spam folder and also check your application status in the system. If this doesn't help, you should probably wait till mid / end of February. If you don't get a reply by then, follow up with HR.
Good luck!
Nick

Hey there,
Bain's recruiting philosophy / approaches tends to vary across regions on sending interview feedback in batches (i.e. after everyone has done SOVA) or on a case-by-case basis. This would depend on lots of factors, including consulting needs / gaps, amount and size of the applicant pool, etc.
I recommend following up every week or two, or after any indicative or decisive dates that the recruiting team may have shared have passed
All the best
