Question

Hi, was ist die beste Vorbereitung für McKinseySolve?

Bedeutet die Einladung, dass das CV-Screening „bestanden wurde“?

Findet der Vergleich bzw. das Ranking mit allen anderen Bewerbern in der Dachregion statt oder gibt es weitere Kohorten?

Muss man hier eventuelle Lücken oder fehlende Exzellenz im Lebenslauf wieder gut machen?

First of all, congratulations on the (presumed) invitation from McKinsey!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:

First of all, while there are simulations and guides available for purchase on different platforms, I would strongly advise you to consider reaching out to an experienced coach like me, who is familiar with the McKinsey Solve pre-interview assessment. Most simulations and guides seem to be outdated, unrealistic, or omit important details. If you would like to know more about how I can help you in the most efficient way, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
Moreover, contrary to what other coaches have said, in the DACH region your application files seem to be evaluated together with your McKinsey Solve result.
Lastly, I would strongly advise you to focus on succeeding at the McKinsey Solve pre-interview assessment instead of wondering what the peer group is, as it is unfortunately out of your control anyway. And if your application files are not strong enough, a great McKinsey Solve result will unfortunately not help you here.

Ja, mit der Einladung zu Solve hast du das CV-Screening geschafft. Das Ergebnis wird dann in Kohorten verglichen, meistens nach Region und Intake, also nicht nur DACH-weit in einem riesigen Pool. Solve ist keine Stelle, um “Lebenslauf-Lücken” auszubügeln, sondern ein weiterer Filter, der zeigt, wie du logisch und strukturiert Probleme angehst.

Zur Vorbereitung: man kann Solve auch ohne spezielles Üben gut meistern, wichtig ist, dass du logisch denkst und bei den Ökosystemen klug Entscheidungen triffst. Wenn du bereit bist ein wenig Geld zu investieren, kann ich dir auch ein Spiel empfehlen, das den Stil sehr gut simuliert.
